In very sad recent music news, Kanye West's mother, Donda, has passed away from what reports are calling complications from cosmetic surgery. The surgery was performed by Dr. Jan Adam, who is currently involved in all kinds of scandal including several malpractice lawsuits.

Donda West was 58 years old and a retired professor from Chicago State University. She was always seen as a very supportive mom, and was often seen by Kanye's side at award shows and parties.

In a recent concert in Paris, Kanye West broke down when he tried to sing "Hey Momma" and he was unable to finish the song. Band members stepped up to comfort the distraught rapper on stage. Kanye was then set to perform at the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on November 14, but he ended up cancelling the appearance due to his mother's death.
